I am half Caribbean and certain I know who she was referring to. I myself have said to my wife in the past that his hair reminded me of the Robertson's golliwog. We are 'brothers' and if he knew the item in question I do not think he would take issue. The UK is TOO PC!
 
Seemingly she said he looked like one ... it doesnt matter in what way she said it - the word Golliwog is not racist - it refers to a Bear with afro hair who is Black.... The person who should have been sacked is Adrain Chiles for being a tell-tale-tit
 
She said he looked like one (as in the specific jam character), it wasn't like she said 'that golliwog' or something in reference to him. So yeah, I agree with you, really not an issue!
 
I did hear a female BBC executive say "What Carol says in her own home is her own business, but she must not say it in public".

So I suppose that the BBC welcome those who do not speak their minds, who say one thing and mean another and those who are news reporters must at many points in their career. lie through their teeth.

If it is something you believe in, then how can you possibly pretend something different?

Instead she disagreed and continued to use it until two presenters, one charity worker and several production staff left a BBC green room.
