Did Native Americans love all of God's creature even though they hunted?

Did they hunt because they had to, because everyone needs to eat, but sill love animals?
 
Yes, they respected what was around them. They didn't hunt for trophies.
 
They loved them especially because they hunted yum yum and many where very thankful to God for sustaining life! Those who knew him anyway!
 
Which Native Americans are you talking about? Lakota? Alabaman? Potlatch? Cherokee? Delaware? Ute? Apache?

It's sad to see the ridiculous misinformation and stereotyping that's present in most of these responses. Each culture had its own attitude toward the natural world. The claim that Native Americans wasted nothing is absurd. Of course they discarded materials they had no immediate use for. They weren't stupid, and their ability to store and transport materials was limited.

One of the methods some Indian tribes used to hunt buffalo was to set fires and drive them off a steep bank, so that they would die en masse, providing the tribe with far more meat and hides than they could use.
