Did people in the seventies acctually wear bell bottom flares??? :S?

They were first worn in the late 60's and became ridiculous in the 70's

Why "actually"? It was a fashion, looked better than a lot of fashions now. Now what I'd say "actually" about is "did people in the seventies actually wear platform shoes with transparent walls and fish inside them?." As mentioned, fashion does strange things. Bell-bottoms are one of the less strange.
