I'm an old school gamer and i have been recently wanting to get the old games on GameCube and PS2. But i see that the same game is on Gameube and PS2. For instance "Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly" is on both Gamecube and PS2. Is there really a difference to them since there on different consoles? Or does it matter which one i pick?

The above answerer is clueless.

If a 3rd party puts out a game for multiple consoles, it was developed by the same developer. It would not be two separate teams from two separate companies making the same game.

In older generations, you may see differences due to technology differences between them, like NES and Master System, or SNES and Genasys.

But starting with the gamecube/playstation 2 era, there was little difference in the games. Visually maybe, where a shader from one system and another system don't quite do the same thing. But the game play and general graphic style would be the same.

Of course the controllers would be different, so depends on which controller you like to hold more.

And the other difference is GameCube uses mini-DVDs that have a 1.4gig capacity and PS2 uses normal DVDs that had a 4.something gig capacity on a single-layer disk. It is rare that a game takes up the entire available disk space, so if it did on the PS2, the GameCube would likely be a multi-disk game (like Final Fantasy XIII on PS3 vs. 360).

So to wrap up, the differences would be minimal.
