Well I just got a Blue Ray player, and noticed that it's not the same without HD Surround sound audio. So I already have a wired surround sound system that has a optical port. The blue ray player also has a optical port, and my tv has a output. I would like my tv to have this sound also, but I don't want to buy two cords. The HDMI cord for the blue ray supports 7.1 HD Dolby Surround Sound, so I'm wondering if I can just use the output on my TV, and have the same performance as plugging the blueray into the theater system. Thanks
