divx player clashes with my laptop?

I'm trying to watch some movies on www.stagevu.com. the site requires divx player. the website works fine and everything but the moment i install the divx player and try to open the website, it wont let me do anything. The error says internet explorer is having a problem...something..something. and shuts out the browser. I uninstall the divx player and go back to the website, everything is same again. i donno what the problem is, it's driving me nuts. i even uninstalled my mcafee virus scanner thinking that it was maybe blocking it. I have a windows xp home edition toshiba laptop. please help me. thankx

I had the very same thing happen to me. I was trying to watch movies on stagevu.com It prompted me to downlaod divx player. I downloaded it, It crashed my firefox browser about three times. Then I tried it with internet explorer 8 it did the same thing. I said to hell with, uninstalled it, decided I didn't need it. LOL
