Do a vhs tape rewind faster with the tv off?

i always though about this when i was little, but forgot about it because of the dvd new age and i remember in school the other day

is the rumor true that a vhs tape will rewind faster with the television off?

It rewinds faster if you switch the channel. So that might be true.

no.the only conection is visual

Shouldn't affect it AT ALL. If it does you have an electrical malfunction somewhere.

Get with the times!!! No one uses vcrs anymore!! There are things called dvds and blu-ray players now!!!

i know it rewinds faster when it is not in view mode and rewinding...never heard of the television having to be off though.
