Do any good motorbike manufacturers make 400cc sports bikes any more?

I am looking to get my very first bike, I'm thinking a 400 would be a good bet. Always wanted a CBR400, but it seems they haven't made those for ten years now!! Is there no modern equivalent? Could anybody give me a very rough estimate on a couple of things:

1) what the difference in insurance would be between a 400 and a 600cc sports bike
2) how much it costs to get a bike restricted ( to A2 license specs)
3) how does petrol consumption on a bike like this compare to a standard hatchback and a 125cc bike?

If you can answer these it would be very helpful!

Thanks.

400 are usually made for the Japan market and imports are commonly available.
Usually these will have sticker on the speedo to convert to mph.

I have a 400 that is officially imported by the manufacturer, but it isn't a sports bike.
