Do companies care if you download an older version of a software with BitTorrent?

There is a software I would like called "reason" which has upgrades their software to like 6.0, and I was wondering if they would care if i got the torrent for 3.0.. The software 3.0 only cost like $25.00 on ebay and 6.0 cost like $300, so.

Pretty sure they "care" after all it's money in their pockets and you know companies are greedy when it comes to money. You get what you pay for..

They don't "care" as long as they don't "know"? :3

Yes they care. Copyright extends for a fixed period (generally 70 years past the death of the author) and cannot be renewed. Trademarks exist for a shorter period (10 or 20 years) but can be renewed indefinitely. If you pay for it, it shouldn't be an issue.

If you're using a pirated version (ie: you're going to use a key generator or you didn't pay for it), then they will care. Any copy or installation of copyrighted software is illegal - not that it stops anyone!
