i know its a bit random and maybe stupid for ovas but really:
DO FISHES GO SLEEP? if not what do they do...

Fish don't sleep they are kinda like sharks the have to keep moving(swimming or drifting)

it is a good question and it varies by species, nesting fish, like clown fish and certain other species do actually sleep, though they are easily disturbed, and yes even sharks sleep,[they is a fish! >.>;] species of fish that have eyes covers will keep one eye open, and even while "resting or "sleeping" any changes in the current or pressure in the water will alert the fish, even changes in light will wake them, and cause them to become fully active again. saying most animals rest" is not true all animals rest and all animals sleep even if only for tiny bursts. even the crabs in my bw tank used to sleep, their eyes would lower and they wouldn't move for hours untill something changed then they would be back to activeness and hyperactiveness!
forgot to metnion sharks do sleep, and they keep 1 eye open while constantly moving, HOWEVER not everything has to be constantly moving, sharks lack certain muscles which allow them to forcully pulls water through their gils so in turn they have to continue swimming, even whikle they z z z although i wish i could explain more i feell asleep half way through the lecture

Well they don't really "sleep" They rest. When the lights go off their bodies start to move slower until they just lay there not moving until lights go on =D

You actually asked a very good question.
I also pondered this for awhile, and I researched it.
Fish don't go to sleep. They just rest. And it doesn't always happen at night. In fact, most animals don't sleep. They sort of half-sleep to regain energy. They are still partly consious in case a predator comes. They "wake up" at the slightest noise. Humans lost this a while ago because we don't have to deal with predators anymore.

its hard to believe it but they actually don't.they only rest but they don't sleep.all they do is swim and eat and chase other fish in the tank.

they dont sleep like we do. but they do rest and calm down as in their heartbeat is lowered and they stay more still than they usually would.
