Do guys spread rumours or not?

I live in a small area and have always had a problem with the guys.I do model work,am female so I am told I am pretty.not that it matters,but men never chat me up,can be bitchy to me in the past.Thing is they spread rumours they have slept with me,wen some of them I don't even know.It is untrue and unfair and in a small area has given me a bad reputation,for something I didn't do.Then wen someone I like comes along they are put off.For example, I started seeing a guy I liked he was keen,.Then other guys started telling him I was mental,a slut, etc etc, stable guys who already have girlfriends bitch about me....why do they do thi??? it is all lies.I don't desserve a life/??
 
beware of these kinds of guys....and yes guys gossip a lot and spread rumors..more than girls do....
 
YES! Guys do spread rumors, I should know, I'm a guy, I've heard my share of bullshittery in the locker rooms during gym class. Guys like that make men look like assholes, which is, now, pretty big. We always try to do shit to look tough, it's always an ego thing with us. In actuality, guys can be a lot more sensitive than women, and can be just as bitchy. Find a guy that'll treat ya with respect and love, one who'll stand by you for everything you do and will have your undying love. Hell, you seem like a nice girl, I'd date ya if it wasn't for the fact that I'm a stranger and probably half-way across the country. :)
 
Guys can spread rumors. However if the guy who say all these rumors has a girlfriend .... well I think it's the girls they are dating who are telling the guys what they personally think about you out of spite or jealousy since you are a model.
 
we talk to our other guy friends about everything..how you are in bed, what your mm hmm smells like, how big your breasts are, how firm they are, how good of a g/f you are, if you have morning breath, everything!!! ..we talk just like females do, just not very often, we usually only have these kinda convo's 1 time.

so if you want to get a good reputation with his friends, be a GREAT G/F, no b***n , nagging, yelling, just be nice to us and youll be fine. and clean up after yourself! (and us too sometimes! hehe, its a nice deed!!!)
 
I'm sorry to hear about your story. That does kind of suck. Anyway, back to the question. I'm not sure if this question can be asked regarding gender. In the end, it's what type of person they are. Anyone can spread rumors... But some people's morals may go against it. You've clearly just ran into a brick wall of jerks.
 
Oh yup, guys do most definitely spread rumors. I've had rumors spread about me, not from girls, but guys. It sucks, but yes, some guys are immature enough to do so.
