Do i have a virus? I continually get pop ups through internet explorer

without even using the program.? When on the internet i continually getting pop ups coming up through internet explorer even though im using mozilla. internet explorer will open on its own to a pop up. i have up to date internet security and its not picking it up as a virus. what can i do to resolve this?

i have had used avg, then got macafee not currently have norton, all were the newest versions and all were legit and i still ahd the same problem. pop up blocker is on.
*now currently..

Sounds like malware..
These AV`s are all free and good. I prefer AVG, been using it for 3 years with no problem.

Guessing that mozilla is set as your default browser. Sounds like spyware. Might want to google what is being popped up if it's an ad and see if anyone else is having the same problem.
