It was not a pick up line exactly, but one used by clerks in stores too many times. They must think they all work in the only store that uses that line.
They are extremely lame. They sound very contrived and lack spontaneity. I guess guys have used these lines on me. I don't really like to think about them because they are so annoying. Keep the tone of your voice neutral, refrain from joking around with them and respond to the remark at face value. For example, if they say "You look like your in a hurry/in a fluster/ in a rage ...", just agree that you are so you have to get going. You could also say "Oh, am I the one being set up?" either in a joking tone of voice or in one that means business.
