my daughter had to have surgery and the md said you will stop smoking or I won't do your surgery. He said smokers don't heal well.I am sick of cigs but I cont to smoke, they are nasty and I hate them but I can't stop.I am scared of chant ix cause to the psychological side effects.

I smoked for 12 years and used the Commit lozenges for the first couple weeks. They don't taste too good but it gives you that whole "oral fixation" when your craving a cigarette. After a couple weeks I didn't need them anymore and I was fine. I would try those. Just pop on in when you want a cig. I found it really did take the edge off. (nothing gets rid of the desire completely- that's where willpower comes in) Good luck!!!!

I was a heavy smoker for a long time,Im now living in New York the patches here are free. They are very expensive to buy, call your local health dept.Ask them what they offer, anyways back to the patches...YES they helped me soooooooo much....now im a non-smoker.If you can get help to pay for them........its worth the money to save your life.GOOD LUCK!!!!

You know. I think I would find me another MD. What an As*. I understand the health problems associated with smoking. I smoke myself. But I will not have someone threaten me in that manner. I would sue the As&. But for the patch. Some people have a great success with them Some don't. You will just have to try and see. They did not work for me. Chantix did not work for me either and Welbutrin made me feel like I wan on crack.
