Do you bring a weight scale on vacation?

I'm on a huge diet, and I want to bring the scale to another country over break. Do fancy hotels usually have scales? Would they let it on the plane?

If the hotel has a gym, then they might have a scale, but probably not. I have traveled with a scale before (I bought one while out of town) and it is allowed on the plane, but TSA will open your bag when they see it go through the xray because it is a large unusual item. I do agree with some of the other answerers though, you're on vacation, so leave the scale at home.
