who he really is? Instead he's driven out of the state by the church, and struggles to stay will his wife, whom he will inevitably cheat on again, because she can't make him happy since he's gay. Isn't it sad that he thinks he fighting a disease?

Don't you think it would be wise for him to get a divorce, find a man and be happy, so he doesn't have to "sin", and possibly open his own church elsewhere, perhaps one that is open to all people regardless of sexual orientation?

I think it's a viable business venture for him, and he could still serve his Lord, if he just accepted the fact that God loves him the way he is.

Isn't it sad? What do you think?
Super Kitteh: So I guess you could be gay, but just choose not to be, right? Gotcha.

We all make choices for our lives. It is unfortunate that some of those choices go against one's true nature. I think that is the case with Ted Haggard.

However, I do not pity him for his tax evasion.

That's what happens when sex is proscribed in the name of God.

He will never be able to accept himself as long as he clings to that doctrine.

It is a bit sad, but he stays involved in his religion by his own choice. He might be happier if he were honest with himself about who he is, but he has chosen otherwise. So I can't muster up that much sympathy.
