Do you feel that WWE is down grading christian by putting him on ECW?

Almost every superstar that has left WWE for the rival competition and came back, they have down graded them in some way. Even though some of those stars have came back on top. Like Nash and Hall left for WCW and came back. They both have been put at mid card but slowly worked back up to main event level to only be released again. There are more but I cant find info on them. But Christian deserves to be in the main event level and on Raw or Smackdown. What do you think?
