...or are they all of the same background and religion?

Is it good or bad for one to mix with people of different cultures/religions?

In the past, I did indeed have friends from a variety of religous and ethnic and national and cultural backgrounds. I was even friends with wealthy people!

But Allah called me into isolation to become more deeply religious. Allah called on me to dig much deeper into my soul to hear Allah's inner voice. To do this, to become more devout, I had to give up my life in this world and that included disassociation from former friends and acquiantances whose moral influence upon me was lacking in the deeper morality Allah has called upon me to reach in myself and to teach to others.

Give up your wealth, those of you who are wealthy, as Issa says to the rich man in Injeel, who asks him how he can get to heaven, sell your belongings and give the money to the poor. Allah will give me wealth soon and watch me role model by giving it up.

When I can return to having friends again, when Allah brings me out of isolation, they will indeed be people of a wide variety of backgrounds. I discriminate based on content of character not on religion, skin color, disability, or anything else that is outer wrapping. I do my best to understand people from different cultures, including through heavy accents as I know they are struggling to understand me through mine too.
