I want to burn Linux on a DVD disc but I do not not have a DVD-rw drive and I don't know if this is impossible or my hard drive just isn't recognizing dvd's.
If you cannot burn .iso files to DVD what are the alternative ways of installing linux?
You can also burn it on a DVD-R if your computer can read that, or you drag the ISO file to a USB-stick and boot your PC from that stick. You can do that in your BIOS settings, when you start your PC it says you have to press a particular key to open your BIOS, there you can set it to boot up from your USB-stick.
If u r not havin g dvd rw drive u will not be able to burn the iso file in to the dvd.One alternative is take the file to a portable hard disk and copy it to dvd from u r frends sysytem
