I really like the mid 80's to mid 90's action crime dramas that also have that sexy, romantic, sophisticated, moody aesthetic. I think Miami Vice probably played a giant role if not single-handedly started that in 1984.
Do you think those types of movies spent enough time in Hollywood and belong to the eras they were made or should possibly be used as inspiration for newer movies? I sorta think filmmakers are trying too hard to get away from that as it's definitive to the 80s and part of the 90s. Also the general dumbing down of blockbuster films with over-paced escapism and far parted genres to make money from A, B, and C target markets. Thoughts?
