Do you need an ID to sign up for planet fitness?

I want to sign up for a black card so I can tan but I am only 17. (you have to be 18 to tan there) Could I just say that I'm 18 or would they need an ID.

If they do require an ID to sign up could my mom sign up and then just give the card to me so I could use it?
