it should be? I am not saying growth is bad, we need as much growth as possible from fertility rates as well is immigration. Although I do believe that it needs to be managed more effectively. By this I am referring to urban sprawl.

With councils simply releasing more land on the fringes of our cities whenever there is a need for more population, surely it is not sustainable? I understand that if they don't release land, land prices will skyrocket, which is what we don't want, but shouldn't we be promoting medium/high density living in order to accommodate more people?

I understand that not everyone desires to live in flats as many of us desire a detached home in the suburbs, but what other option is there? Simply go to google maps and look at the 'great eastern bulge' of Melbourne, stretching all the way to Narre Warren, it is just ridiculous.

Do you have an opinion on this matter? What is your opinion?
