Do you think dreams are actually premonitions or just fictitious events in

your imagination? I was just wondering what you all think. I've noticed that alot of things that happen in my dreams, actually happen in real life later on (sometimes a day later, a week, and sometimes even months later)-- I'm very good at remembering my dreams, I write them down alot so that I don't forget. Its very strange. I've had lucid dreams before also. What do you think??

Most dreams are not premonitions, but reflections of your daytime concerns and preoccupations. Lucid dreams (which I've had also) reflect a subconscious awareness that what you are experiencing in your dream is not real. That awareness gives you power in your dream -- the ability to fight off an attacker without fear, to fly at will, to seduce anyone that appeals to you, to wake yourself up at will, etc.

Dreams are usually triggered by events that have already happened in your life. A lot of the time, your subconscious stores information without you even knowing it. Then, when you sleep, your dreams may be based on this information.

Usually dreams aren't really 'predicting' anything. But the fact that our subconscious caused the dream in the first place makes it seem eerily real, and when something similar happens, we believe the dream foretold it.

Dreams are not premonitions but a lot of times they are metaphorical and are usually what you want or dint want to happen. There is usually a lot of symbolism in dreams so they aren't really fictitious but they are not premonitions either.
