Titanic, to an extent but usually no, they take so much poetic license with the stories, its hard to tell what they're even based on. however, the movie Valkyrie, is extremely accurate historically, read about the actual attempt on wikipedia, and then go watch the movie, its like you've read the screenplay its so spot on.

I love "Hollywood History", where the facts never get in the way of a good story!
I think out of all the Hollywood movies I've seen about historical events, maybe one or two were really accurate ("Tora tora tora!", "A Bridge Too Far") and the rest were almost always laughable.
Shockers include anything with Mel Gibson.
Funnily enough, the British seemed to be better at recreating believable and accurate historical movies ("The Battle of Britain" "A Night to Remember"). Why is that?
