Do you think Metalcore/Deathcore will be just a trend, or a permanent Metal subgenre?

It's hard to say...

Glam and Nu Metal died (although SOME successful bands still exist today), whereas Black, Death, Thrash, Doom etc continued.

Don't be an elitist! I like the new, younger Metal genres AS WELL AS the classic! Just please try to answer with an open, intelligent mind. :)
I just know some Metalheads go crazy when you mention anything with "-core" in it haha

I think they'll stick it out. Metalcore has been around sind the late 90s.

Deathcore is more recent but it started off with a strong following back in 2003-2004 and it still has that same following. We'll just have to see how it plays out. It's still in its early stages but I think it may last. It seems that new bands from this genre pop up all the time
