Do you think that Christians (who try to live their faith) are persecuted today?

I know that in some counties (like islamic countries) it is considered a crime simply to be a christian, but in this society, when tolerance is one of the most important values and no religion is officially prohibited, did it ever happen to you to be slandered or laughed at only because you try to live your faith?
