the NHL in the U.S.? I heard an announcer on ESPN radio say on Saturday that he loves watching the hockey games this Olympics when a week ago he said that no one cares about the NHL.
 
I expect a temporary spike but nothing approaching a sudden turnaround of interest in developing markets that are struggling. No matter what the accountants say - even if its justified - a market doesn't become instantly crazed because a new team from an unfamiliar sport is suddenly in town.

What I'm getting at is things aren't bad because ticket giveaways and less-than-capacity crowds have become normal for some teams. This Olympic upset isn't going to change what takes time to occur.
