mmm I'm not sure, I suppose that I do think its is more helpful than it actually hurts the community. I think that any bit of gay media that a major audience is able to see gets them a little more comfortable with the idea that there are homosexual couples & they do normal things just like everyone else.

Hell no. They did it for attention and have made it clear they're straight. They make us look fake.

Ellen degeneres is someone who helps, not brittney and madonna.

I think any attention is good attention. Who says we only need model citizens to portrait the GLBTQ community?

GLBTQ folks are just like straight folks, we all have our troubles and some of us more than others. If the media followed you everywhere you've gone since you were a young tween to now, would they have any juicy tid-bits to publish about you? If it was me, OMG they'd have a field day!

Anyhow, I think it shows the very terrified straight world that we are here, we're not going away, and we're a lot like they are.

As for the kiss, hooray society is to the point they actually aired that kiss W/W/W action during prime time. It breaks down the barriers. Girls kissed girls and the world didn't end!

I have seen the first video and I will watch the 2nd...

To an extent no, for example:
People like Lindsay Lohan
She has a girl friend and she sets extremely bad examples. She used to work for Disney and now she does stupid things in public which portrays not only her but gays badly.

For that kiss, it is really just for attention. Just like Katy Perry's song "I kissed a girl." All for publicity.

There's people like Ellen Degeners (how ever you spell it) who do help. They don't set bad examples and portray gays in a bad way.

In conclusion, I really don't think the majority celebrity community is helping gays.
