France is a racist nation? I am writing a French paper and would like a quotation from a public figure (preferably French!) which says that France is racist, to start my essay off. I've had a look on google but can't seem to find anything, surely someone at some point has voiced their opinion that France is racist? I intend to evaluate the statement in my essay... so come up with some good ones guys!

By the way... this question isn't a discussion on whether France is or isn't racist... this is simply me needing to find a quote to start my essay off!
I will start another thread to get some opinions, but please don't post them on here.
 
The French are not known for outright racism, so that is why your search has not been productive. Try researching some of the leaders who fought the French to become independent.

Maybe Ho Chi Minh of Viet Nam made such comments; he would be a good person to start your research with.
 
All I can think of is George Bush saying (ironically):

"The problem with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur".

I'm not sure this counts as racist, however.
