Hi everyone!

I am thirteen years old and have just auditioned for the School of American Ballet in New York City. I know that I didn't get in because it has already been nearly a week, but I don't understand why not. I have extremely good technique for my age, a high instep, good balance, and long legs. I have good facial expressions and everything, but I didn't get accepted. I don't understand why. I mean, if SAB wants bodytype I can definitly understand that, but I think that I have a pretty good body type for my age. I want to get into SAB more than anything. I understand that it is easier to get in when you are younger, rather then older, but I don't think that's fair, but I know that I cannot change the way SAB does their work.

I understand that SAB is looking for that dancer bodytype. That long and lean look and everything, but I mean, goodness there is so much more to a dancer then their bodies. Now, I am not saying that I am a fat porker or anything, but I kind of need advice. What do they look for?? Has anyone ever had any personal experience? Is there anyone out there that got into SAB and what do you have that they are looking for? I really want to get in next year, but I really need to know what they are looking for so that I can fix it. I tried my best there, but my best wasn't good enough. Also, if you can, I would like opinions on these ballet schools:

Joffrey
American Academy of Ballet
American Ballet Theatre
Manhattan Youth Ballet (Studio Maestro in the past)

I would especially like an opinion on the last one, as I am auditioning for this one tomorrow but I am not convinced that it is the best out there. Can someone give me an opinion?? Thanks so much!
