Does anyone know how to reprogram a motorola sb4200 surfboard cable modem?

Everytime I try to get on the Internet, it doesn't come on. It keeps telling me to check all settings to make sure everything is ok. There's no problem with the modem it works just fine. All the lights on the modem comes on and at the bottom right hand corner a icon says that it's connected. Can anyone help? How do you reprogram it?
