I don't know if it's just me but hollywood can take a ugly person make them look good. Right or Wrong! Have you ever seen a star with out make up. Don't some of them look ugly!
 
The entire entity of hollywood is ugly, and you can see how many fools they have paying attention to them, so, in even a bigger realm than you address, I wholeheartedly agree. And, more specifically, I've seen makeup make otherwise bland or ugly women look like babes, so it only holds true that a made-up place like hollywood can make anyone look good, even me (but they'd better not try on me!!).
