Does PS3 still support divx playback?

I know Sony added divx in version 2.10, I just got a PS3 and I am on the most recent version (3.4 I think) I threw a working .avi on a flash drive but the PS3 does not see any vids on the drive when I browse to it.

Did they remove divx playback or is it something I am doing wrong?

I am in the process of converting it to mpeg but that will take a few more hours and I wanted to use divx anyway.

Any tips?
Thank you Omar,

Created a folder named "Video" and placed the file there, problem solved.

Unless you have a specific folder in your flash drive titled "Video" your PS3 won't notice a video file (I've experienced this myself) so a way to see everything in your flash drive is to go to it on the XMB, and instead of pressing "x" press the triangle button and then select "view all" or "show all". During all of this, make sure you're under the "video" section in the XMB. Once you're in your flash drive in this manner, navigate to where you have the movie and try to play it from there. If it manages to play correctly then all is well, if not then there might be something in the encoding that prevents it from playing on the PS3.

Yes, but you have to activate it (the PS3 must be registered as a DivX player).

You must register the PS3 on the DivX site: http://www.divx.com/en/movies/register-your-device

Activate DivX on the PS3 here: XMB > Settings > System Settings > DivX® VOD Registration Code

The easiest way to activate DivX on the PS3 is to enter all of the information on the DivX site and then stream the activation code to the PS3, which you can do in Video of the XMB: XMB > Video > Media Server > folder where DivX activation was saved

If your PS3 isn't connected to a Network, then you can save the registration DivX video on a CD/DVD or flash device and transfer it over.
