Does the car dealer usually mail the title to you after you buy the vehicle?

Go ahead, tell me how dumb I am... but please answer my question. I just bought a USED vehicle from a dealership. I guess we were so excited that I forgot to ask about the title. Does the dealership usually mail the title or should I have gotten it the day I bought the vehicle? I didn't know if it takes time for them to get the title transferred or what... this is the first time I've bought a car on my own. Thanks!
