Does the cigarette lighter on a 1990 Buick Skylark lose power when the car is off?

I want to get a fake car alarm LED that plugs into the cigarette lighter, but that'll only work if the cigarette lighter maintains power when the car is off.
 
Most older gm cars stay on so I think your does. You can go through the painstaking task of leaving the ignition off and pushing in a lighter to see!!
 
It's easy to find out if your work with the key off, just push the lighter in with the key off and see if it pops out.if not you can run a hot wire from the lighter to the fuse box, but you need to make sure that you hook it to a fuse that has power at all time's , You can do this by useing a test light .
