Does the Mayan prophecy freak you out? 2012?

I don't believe the world will end on December 21,2012 but the prophecy does give me the willies. The mayans were highly advanced in astronomy, math, and science. There are also books about Bible codes stating that the Earth will be destroyed by a comet or asteroid in 2012. Some have even claimed that 2012 will be the beginning of the religious apocalypse brought on by God. Does any of this sort of freak you out since its only 3 years away?

the mayan prophecy does not freak me out at all...what freaks me out is what is happening in astronomy on dec 21 2012....not an asteroid or comet.....the earth will complete it,s wobble and our magnetic poles will shift....A NEW ICE AGE

The Bible Code I do not trust, as scriptures can be translated and rewritten wrong over the years, but the astronomy bits I do believe in. But, the Mayans believed that the world's end would be the beginning of another, and that some would survive to populate the next world.

Yes, this does freak me out because when everybody said that the world was going to end in 2006 I had depression for 2 months!!!!
And when I heard about this I feel like Im going to faint every single time someone mentions it!!

No it doesn't freak me out. The Mayan calendar ends and it is said to mean the end of the world as we know it. Not the physical end of the world.

nah, the Mayans could have just stopped making the calander, as in just stopped or got attacked, or something bad could have happened to them, you never know but i doubt it will

None of it freaks me out because I don't believe the crap. When 2012 arrives and none of what you mentioned happens, will I be considered a prophet? I doubt it.

I think they also practiced human sacrifices so don't give them too much credit. It's a load of crap.

I'm not certain which propphecy you are referring to, but the Mayans only believed that this world or cycle would end in 2012. They believed that another would start the next day. It is a time of change & upheaval, but not necessarily destruction.

Those who are trying to turn it into an end of the world situation, are likely the same people who thought we would not make it past Y2K..

I think it's an excuse for a great party!
