Does the motorolla cliq play divx videos in the browser?

I'm so confused. I heard there's this freyo thing and with that you have adobe flash player 10. I want to know if that's on the motorolla cliq too or if you have to update the phone's firmware or whatever it's called in order to get it.
@joe.attaboy so pretty much I have to wait for the update and it hasn't came out yet? that sucks. :( As for the rom thing I don't even know anything about that so I'm not even gonna bother trying.

The version of the Android system you're referring to is called "FroYo" (FROzenYOgurt -- all versions of Android since 1.5 have been named after desserts). It is version 2.2.

When the update for 2.2 is available for your phone, you will receive a notification, and you'll be able to do the upgrade over the air. Adobe Flash does work on 2.2. Allegedly. (I have FroYo on my Nexus One, but I won't install Flash -- it's a battery drainer and I really don't care about it).

The only other way to upgrade is to root the phone and install a custom 2.2 ROM. I don't think there's a way to root the Cliq yet, and you shouldn't do it anyway, if you don't know absolutely what you're doing.
 
Just to expand on the answer you already received...the cliq can be rooted. Also, the Cliq, although not officially announced, will not be receiving an OTA update to 2.2. Its just one of those things where the device has been left behind by the manufacturer and carrier in terms of support, but they arent going to actually say it yet.

Update: Rooting is the process of hacking your phone to gain "root" access. It enables you to do things that are normally restricted by the manufacturer (such as manually updating to froyo). If you dont know what you are doing however, you can do what is called "bricking" your phone; ie, your phone becomes nothing more than a brick...

I would not suggest trying it in your case. However, if you are interested, you can start researching and learning about the android OS and then how to root. Look at sites like engadget.com and xda-developers.com. There is A LOT of information a beginner should read before even thinking about trying to root their phone. However, IMO it is worth it.
