I am looking for part time work & posted an add on craigslist. One of the emails was from an author who wants me to read out his manuscript to him so he can catch the errors. Apparently it's a process step before the manuscript goes for editing. He is paying $20/hour in cash which seems too good for the job, esp since I've not done this kind of thing before. Also he didn't mention that he was unable to read himself & assuming he can, why would he hire someone else to read out to him? So...does this sound fishy or is it worth pursuing?
