All companies do that, with more than just gadgets.
I was shopping the other day and saw a huge box of those net scrubbies to use in the shower with a note ont he side that said, "Remember to replace your scrubby every 30 days"
REALLY???
I now need someone to advise me as to how long I use by bathing equipment? I think not.
The same thing happens with all that antibacterial hand sanitizer, counter cleaners, laundry additives, etc.
There is NO evidence that any of this expensive crap does ANYTHING to prevent any diseases any better than plain old soap and water and yet it has become a multimillion dollar industry and turned us into germaphobic idiots.
Take bottled water...Now THERES a success story. Convincing millions that tap water in a plastic bottle you buy is safer than tap water in your faucet...when the stuff in the bottle also came from the faucet but now you pay sooooo much more PLUS make huge landfills full of plastic bottles that NEVER will break down and disintegrate.
I prefer to do my own thinking...
