dog newbie and puppy question?

i adopted a sweet, adorable this week; she just came on friday. on wednesday she was spayed and thursday she licked her stiches out and i brother home with staples. her insision looks really good and she licks a little less everyday. but i know she's uncomfortable. would it be ok if i put a cold pack on the spot for a few minutes, assuming she would let me?

A cold pack wrapped in a towel will definitely sooth it. When our dog was spayed, we just watched her so she wouldn't lick (as it can do more harm than good including make it painfully raw!). You can use the cone, if you have one but right now I don't think she needs it just discourage licking.

Yes it would be fine.Just give her lots of attention and make her happy because she will be feeling a bit grotty and unhappy.
