Duck Hunting boat?????????

Im looking at a jon boat for duck hunting. It weighs 77 pounds and seats 2 people. It said under the description max power 3hp. With two people and hunting gear will 3hp be enough to get us going at a speed that wont take 5 hours to get to our hunting spot? is it save to put a slightly larger motor on it? Thanks!
