I'll try to keep this short and refrain from the "wall of text".
We went ice fishing at 43F while this was a bit risky, we decided to go ice fishing. We went on to the ice, and dug out our ice hole. Thankfully the ice was 1.5 feet thick, so we knew that we were fine.
We caught 4 pikes and 2 were keepers. As the day went on the snow melted on the lake which created a puddle of water on top of the ice( around .5 inches deep)
All of this extra water was basally funneling down our ice fishing holes. Ever since the water started to drain in our holes. We didn't catch any fish. ( we are thinking the sound scared them away)
My question is this: When we drilled our holes, the water went right on top of the hole. Where is this "melted snow water" going when it drains down our ice fishing hole?
