D Dimchik New member Aug 25, 2009 #2 If it really bothers you - remove the DVD drive in question from Device Manager and restart computer (through windows Shutdown menu, to be safe). The DVD drive will be re-detected as such (but it might also change drive letter).

D DAVE Active member Sep 7, 2009 #3 If it is indeed a DVD drive, then it will still read DVDs fine even though Windows thinks its a CD drive. Put in a DVD game or video DVD, and if it picks up anything (the name, the icon, or the files within it), you should be fine.
