I accidentally pushed in the dvd drive of my computer and now the tray is stuck inside at an angle, it it stuck inward.. When i push the eject button it moves forward but it doesn't come out..I don't know if it's possible to fix it without opening up the system unit..can someone help??

the first thing I would do to remove any media is get a large paper clip (stiff) and bend it so you have a small handle on one end and the rest is straight. insert the straight end into the small hole in the drive (that's for ejecting the tray with power off).

disassembe your system just a little bit. shutdown and unplug power. take the left case side panel off. unscrew the drive and remove the cables. insert new drive, screw in, attach cable. gives you a chance to get a blu-ray burner 96 hours to burn I hear).

your drive is toast. get a new one. don't lean or push on the tray. it's delicate, wasn't meant to take g forces, as I am sure you just found out.

the eject button works very well for moving the tray in and out. I suggest you use it instead. I thought drives were tougher than this, but I guess I just learned a "Proper use" lesson...
