I live in Europe but I'm moving to US in a few years and I have a lot of movie DVDs and I want to buy more, but they are all Region 2. So I don't know what to do now. I can't spend money on movies that won't work in the US(region 1). Illegal downloads are out of the question. So what are my options? if I have any...

Well, there are a few solutions you could investigate:

- If you have a Region 2 DVD player and television, you can bring them with you -- you'll just need to ensure you set up voltage conversion for them;

- You can play your movies from a computer, especially if it's equipped with more than one DVD drive.

Personally, I like the idea of the latter. DVD drives can be set to a particular region, but to prevent piracy they're typically limited in how many times you can reset the region number. If you have one drive in your system for Region 1 and another for Region 2, then you ought to be able to play all of your discs (provided you keep track of what drive is supposed to play what).
