DVD-ROM not Working!?

I go on My Computer but the drive is not there. (TSSTcorp SH-S223F)

It also does not appear in Device Manger.

I've already tried the registry fix but i could'nt see any Upper or Lower Filters.

I have also tried the Microsoft 'FixIt' Service with no luck.


Please can someone help!!!

Have you checked the connection to the drive (IDE or SATA cable)?

Have you checked the power connection (does the drive open and close)?

Have you tried another SATA or IDE connection?

If IDE does it have another device on the same cable, in which case have you checked the jumper settings to ensure the PC can differentiate between the two devices?

Does the drive show up at the BIOS level or during POST?

Is the IDE/SATA port enabled in the BIOS and has the appropriate settings?

Have you tried the drive in another machine?

Have you tried another drive in the same machine?

Have you tried connecting the drive to another connector?

Have you tried another cable?
