dvd sound - humming from tv sound?

When I play a DVD I can hear a humming sound from the Sound on the TV... If I lower the volume on the tv remote the humming stops. But then the sound is too low. I put the volume up to max on dvd remote but still too low. The DVD is set to a free channel with no programmes on.. I have tried putting volume up first on dvd remote and visa versa but no good.. humming still there Any advice
fine when watching TV only prob with DVD
 
Is the problem just with the DVD or do you hear the humming from the TV without using the DVD at all?
Check the audio connections on the back of the DVD player to the TV. You can try replacing the audio cable.
