DVD Sound issues with NTSC format foreign DVD?

Hi, I bought a German DVD, which has German and English audio. The German audio works fine, however there is no sound when I try to play the English audio. I've tried computer, portable and regular DVD players with the same results. The computer said that the sound is not supported. It is described as English DTS - HD High Resolution 5.1. This means nothing to me :)
Can I do something so I can hear the English audio, or is it time to learn some German?
