tried loading a dvd rec'd as an instructional for car repair-will load on my laptop but not on the computer-computer doesn't recognize the disc but plays music cd's
does play dvd movies if using the dvd software-just doesn't load this one dvd-the drive doesn't recognize it-says no disc is in drive

well do u have a mac or windows? i have a mac and it works on any cds.

macs- go to preferences>CDs & DVDs> and then do wat u want to change when u insert a dvd or a cd.

windows- um i dont kno about it. but just go to START button and go to search and type in settings or preferences (if they have one) if they dont try to find settings.

Maybe your computer does not have a drive that will read dvd's. Dvd's and cds are different formats, if so you'll need to download a programme called Alcohol 120% and install it. that will just basically install a new drive on your computer and allow dvds to play. Go on control panel and autostart to get the auto-start function
