Easiest way to go on a mission trip?

I really really want to go on a Christian mission trip.
It can be any kind; international or here in america, evangelism & discipleship or relief & community development.
I just want to do more to serve God's children.

But I can't find any organizations that take single teenagers. They're all for group missions. I would love to go with my youth group, but most of the students in my youth group don't have time for fundraising. They're not bad people at all, they're just involved in a lot of other things.
But I know that I could raise the money for myself to go on a trip, I just can't find a way to go on one.

So if you know of any organizations that let single students come together and serve, i would appreciate it sooo much :)
Also, if you can just think of any examples of little ways to serve other people (like collecting blankets for the homeless) I always love new ideas of things I can do.


And I know that every good thing done in my life is not me, but my amazing God working through me :)

Go by a cheap backpack. Fill it full of useful items and take it downtown and give it to a homeless person. Keep doing it. Go volunteer at a civic center, homeless shelter or other place. If you live close to Oklahoma shoot me an email and I might know one you could go on during the Christmas break.

If your Church supports missionaries in the field you might see how much it would cost you to fly over and help out in the summer with a VBS program or whatever they need you to do.

Last thing. Remember that no matter what you do you will really be serving yourself. Do not take this the wrong way. I have been on several trips and I was a part of many wonderful things. But, I grew leaps and bounds and realized that as much as I gave God gave me more and humbled me in ways I cannot express in mere type. So go but realize that you are both the instrument and the target.

Try http://www.maranatha.org/. They are a reliable Christian mission group. They travel as a group, but single people can sign up to go on it.

Well, a good organization to go on a mission trip with would be LAMP. http://www.lampministry.org/ They go to remote areas of Canada to spread the Word of God to young children. They also teach them school and play with them. It would be a great thing for you to do. Kids help out with it all the time

Where do you live? There is a church in my area that goes to Mexico every year and then my church started to do that---but don't think they did last year (we keep getting new youth pastors).

All I can say is pray about it and the Lord will lead you. One youth in my church went to Tanzania for a year or two, think it was two and another one went with the peace corps I think.

Look about locally. There are people in need everywhere. You could do work for some through Habitat for Humanity, helping a family get in their new home. There are faith base religious organizations in your area serve the homeless and the abused. Maybe they have a place for you.

Our faith reach out to people of all langauges, so some in the congregation have focused on learning ASL or Chinese.
